Accessibility

The National Maritime Museum is located in 6 establishments in France: in Brest, Paris, Port-Louis, Rochefort and Toulon. All our sites are in the process of developing and improving their accessibility, with a view to becoming a museum open to all.

The museum's accessibility policy

The National Maritime Museum has been committed to a policy of accessibility for all for many years. It has led to actions enabling practical improvements to be made:

  • an extensive renovation project in Paris
  • implementation of a work schedule in all its establishments in order to improve their physical accessibility in practical terms
  • creation of new accessible cultural offers
  • conducting tests with disabled visitors so as to ensure successful accessibility

However, accessibility is still restricted in several of our establishments, which are protected as historical monuments.

The National Maritime Museum is proud to have obtained the Tourism & Disability label for its sites in Rochefort and Toulon. Such recognition encourages our teams to continue developing the accessibility of its cultural offer and sites.
